A bit of a departure for me to include a cocktail recipe. Not a departure for drinking it, rather writing down the recipe!
Notes
Which gin? A nice quality one if you can, like Bombay Saffire or Hendrick’s. I’ve not tried it, but I have heard Tanqueray No. Ten is really citrus-y so might go well. Ultimately though, any gin will do – even a supermarket own brand as you’re adding extra botanical flavours here.
Ingredients
- 2 parts gin
- 1 part limoncello
- Tonic water
- Lemon verbena sprig (If you don’t have this, a strip of lemon peel can substitute)
- Cucumber slice
Method
- Scrunch the lemon verbena and put this and the cucumber slice in a substantial glass
- Add the gin and limoncello and top up genourously with the tonic
- Muddle together and add some ice as preferred
