Pretty flowers from the cheap bin at the supermarket... a quick spritz of cold water and a dunk in a vase with ice (my top tip to revive cut flowers) and they're all lovely again. Not much that's more summery than a fruity Pav. This one is a chocolate and hazelnut meringue, filled with double cream, smashed up chocolate truffles, chocolate sauce and strawberries, with a few edible flowers for extra colour. Cool peas in a pod. Love me a freshly podded pea. One for me, one for the pot… A beautiful sunny day again, but thankfully a summer breeze and without the stifling air we’ve had of late. Seemed to call for a pistacchio and lemon thyme cake. Just the Italian-style sweet needed for a very Mediterranean-feeling evening. My husband’s little gardening friend. He obligingly likes to sit still and show off, while he waits for grubs and bugs to get dug up. I'm sure you've all got a hungry, cheeky little robin who patrols your garden and provides glorious song. Conchiglioni stuffed to high heaven ⛅️ Chocolate iced shake explosion 💥 It's Sunday, it's nice weather, both my sons are home, there's a graduation tomorrow and there's some game on or other later tonight, not sure what exactly?! So, what else to do than dust off the barbecue, have a few round and get some seeded brioche batch rolls made in preparation. You remember those trofie I was hand rolling in that reel last week? I forgot to show you the finished pasta… so this is a belated post of what they looked, like aired. I cooked and served them in a tomato sugo (of course with a soffritto base) with pesto, olives and anchovies.
